Jericoacoara
Jericoacoara, or Jeri as called by the locals is an ecological
paradise, located in an area of environmental preservation, today a
National Park. Until 20 years it was an isolated fishing village but
today has become a major centre of tourism.
Jericoacoara is really very simple, and could not be different. It is no
coincidence that it was selected as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches
in the world.
On the beach it's still possible to assist fishermen returning from sea
with their rafts, as they did many years ago. The locals are very
friendly, there's beautiful shops, good restaurants and bars, and at any
time of year you can find many visitors in search of the perfect winds
to practice windsurfing and kite surfing. At the end of the day
you can watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in Brazil as it dips
behind a gigantic white sand dune into the Atlantic.
In the evening the place comes to life with bars, clubs and streetside
cocktail bars which use fresh fruit from the local plantations.
It's paradise here for the fun loving beach bum!
