Who we are
Kitetripsbrazil came together at the beginning of 2008. The idea was born when we realised how much there is to explore here but how difficult trips can be to organise for the novice adventurer, or those without local knowledge. Our main team consists of 3 experienced
travellers all of whom have a good understanding of the people, cultures and daily life in this part of the world. Brazilian people are great fun and the lifestyle here is so laid back you often wonder how they ever get anything done! But we have learnt the way they do things here and have a number of reliable contacts to make sure that all you need to worry about is to remember to put on your sun block.
Gert Van Goethem
Gert first came to Brazl in 2002 originally on a kitesurf trip. After
spending one month here he decided to sell his apartment back in Belgium
and build a Pousada (small hotel) in Cumbuco!. Since then he has built
up a successful business, made many good connections and got to grips
with the Brazilian way of life. He is now married to Tiana and together
they run the Pousada and are an integral part of Kitetripsbrazil. Gert
has been kitesurfing for about ten years and is a fully qualified
B.K.S.A. instructor
Tiana Van Goethem
Tiana is Brazilian and she's key when it comes to liaising with the locals. Having Tiana on our team makes sure we always get the best deal, never get ripped off and ensures that all the organisation of transport runs smoothly. She has been kiting herself for 5 years and knows the local area very well, she is also a great cook and puts together an awesome Churrasco! (Brazilian barbeque).
Daniel Gifford
Daniel is originally from the U.K. He first visited Brazil in 2007 on a round the world trip and ended up staying in Gert and Tiana's Pousada. Straight away he recognised the potential for creating a great company. Daniel runs the business back in the U.K. from April to September and travels to Brazil for the British winter. He's a B.K.S.A. instructor and has been kiting for 3 years. Daniel is also fully qualified R.L.S.S. beach lifeguard and takes care of the safety side of things during the trips.
This is our core team, we also have a network of other members who have gained our trust and respect over the years such as drivers, chefs, instructors and helpers. All together we make a strong, reliable and friendly unit whose main concern is your safety, enjoyment and value for money!
